On a 2,560 Wh portable power station, ElementOne runs about 2.3 hours at full power and about 4.6 hours at 50%.* Most camp meals cook just as well at 50–70%, so you rarely need full power.

Any standard 120 V outlet, a portable power station, or your rig’s inverter. Power stations and inverters need a pure sine wave output rated for at least 1,250 W continuous. Charge the power station with solar panels and you can keep cooking off grid.
Yes, through an inverter. Use a pure sine wave inverter rated for at least 1,250 W continuous, wired straight to the battery, and keep the engine running while you cook. A 12 V dash socket can’t supply enough power.
If you have a house battery, you can cook without idling the engine. How long depends on the battery’s size.
Yes. ElementOne has no open flame and burns no fuel, so there are no combustion fumes. Cooking still makes steam and smoke, so crack a window or run your vent fan. Set it on a stable, heat-safe surface, and never use it in a tent or while the vehicle is moving.
Yes, in dry or covered conditions. Keep it out of rain and snow. To test it, we left one on outside, under shade, around the clock for two months, and it was still in perfect working order at the end.
ElementOne has no open flame. Fire rules vary by area and agency (Forest Service, BLM, state parks), so check the current restrictions where you’re camping before you cook.
Yes. There’s no flame for the wind to blow out and no fuel canister to lose pressure in the cold, and ElementOne adjusts its power 60 times a second to hold the heat you set. Strong wind and cold can slow it down at the highest settings, so shelter it from the wind when you can.
Check the light bar. By default, it glows light blue after you turn the heat off, then turns white once the stove has cooled down. While you cook, it shows your heat level, from green on low through yellow and orange to red at full power.
The light bar can’t track heat while ElementOne is unplugged, so if you unplug it hot, let it cool before you touch it or pack it away.
You can set it anywhere from 120 to 575 °F (50 to 300 °C). At its full 1,000 W, it reaches the top of that range in typical indoor conditions.
Any standard pot or pan, unlike induction stoves, which need magnetic cookware. For the most even heat, use a flat-bottomed pan with a base close to 6 inches across that covers all of the coils. We don’t recommend pans wider than 8 inches: they work, but their edges can run noticeably cooler than the center.
No. ElementOne works fully on its own, and one tactile dial runs everything, even with gloves on.
The OLIS Home app is optional and offline-first, with no account required. It connects over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi for guided recipes, Smart Flows and nutrition tracking. Its core features work over Bluetooth with no internet; only extras like online ingredient search and community recipe downloads need a connection.
ElementOne is a fully working stove without the app. If we ever stop updating it, the existing app versions will stay available to download. And if we know we can’t continue support, we’re committed to open-sourcing whatever we can so the community can carry it on.
It’s 6.89 in wide, 7.38 in deep and 4.33 in tall, and weighs 3.13 lbs (1.42 kg), small enough for a backpack or a van drawer. The optional waterproof carrying case keeps it protected on the road.
Turn the heat off, wait for the light bar to turn white, then unplug ElementOne. Wipe the coils with a warm, damp (not soaked) cloth or sponge and a little mild dish soap. Let it air dry or wipe it dry with a lint-free cloth, and make sure it’s completely dry, including where the cord plugs in, before you plug it back in.
Never submerge ElementOne or its coils in water, pour water on the heating element or base plate, or spray it with water.
Inside are 7 modular boards, each with one job. If a part fails, you swap that part, not the whole stove. The tools come in the box, and spare parts are available as add-ons.
The shell is glass-filled nylon with 316 stainless steel, and every ElementOne is designed and assembled in the USA.
It locks in the Super Early Bird price: $199 for ElementOne, or $219 with the carrying case, instead of $209 and $229 at launch on Kickstarter. There are 300 spots, 150 for each, and your $1 goes toward your purchase. Tax and shipping are extra.
