Overview
OLIS Home is designed around a local-first model. Core app features are intended to work without creating an account, and most recipe, device, nutrition, and profile data is stored locally on your device.
Some features use network services. For example, barcode and ingredient lookup requests are sent to OLIS-operated cloud endpoints, and future community or premium features may require an attached Google or Apple sign-in. This policy covers both the app’s current behavior and planned cloud-connected features when they are enabled.
What we collect
1. Information you create and keep in the app
Depending on how you use OLIS Home, the app may store the following on your device:
- local profile names and profile images
- saved recipes, recipe steps, ingredients, equipment, notes, and recipe images
- meal schedules, nutrition history, daily goals, meal slots, tags, and allergen preferences
- saved OLIS devices, device settings, connection state, and current recipe progress
- app settings and interface preferences
2. Device and connectivity data
When you connect to an OLIS device over Bluetooth, the app may access or store technical information needed for operation, such as Bluetooth device identifiers, serial number, available services and characteristics, characteristic values, and device configuration or control state.
3. Camera and photo library access
If you choose to use them, the app may access your camera or photo library so you can attach images to recipes or profiles and scan product barcodes. We do not require camera or photo access unless you actively use those features.
4. Barcode and ingredient lookup data
If you search for ingredients or scan a food barcode, the app sends the search term or barcode value to an OLIS-operated backend service so it can retrieve food and nutrition information. That service may also store or cache food metadata returned by upstream food databases to improve future lookups.
5. Notifications and alarms
If you enable recipe timers or notifications, the app may schedule local notifications and alarms on your device for cooking steps, reminders, and automations.
6. Optional account and community data
Core app use does not require an account. However, if OLIS enables community or premium features, we may collect additional data that you choose to provide, such as:
- an attached Google or Apple sign-in identifier
- recipes you choose to upload
- ratings, comments, profile information, and other community submissions
- limited payment or subscription metadata for premium features, if offered
- optional recommendation inputs you choose to share for personalized content
If these features launch, we may provide additional in-app disclosures at the time they are enabled.
How we use data
- to operate the app and provide recipe, device-control, and nutrition features
- to save your local profiles, recipes, device preferences, and meal history
- to connect to and control OLIS hardware over Bluetooth
- to fetch barcode, ingredient, and nutrition information you request
- to send local cooking reminders, timers, and automation notifications
- to improve reliability, maintain security, and troubleshoot issues
- if optional cloud features are enabled, to support sign-in, recipe sharing, moderation, recommendations, and premium service delivery
Retention and deletion
Data you create for the app’s core local-first features is generally stored on your device until you edit or delete it, or until you uninstall the app.
If you contact us for support, we may retain the messages and related records for as long as needed to respond, keep operational records, or meet legal obligations.
For barcode and ingredient lookup services, backend systems may retain cached food records and related operational logs for reliability, abuse prevention, and performance.
If optional account-linked or cloud community features are enabled and you want associated data deleted, contact us at support@olis.pro. We will review the request and delete or de-identify data where required, subject to any lawful retention needs such as security, fraud prevention, accounting, or dispute resolution.
Your choices
- you can use core app features without creating an online account
- you can decline camera, photo library, Bluetooth, or notification permissions, although related features may not work
- you can delete local profiles, recipes, and images from inside the app
- you can stop future data collection by uninstalling the app
- you can email support@olis.pro with privacy or deletion requests
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information under our control. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
OLIS Home is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact support@olis.pro.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version at this page and update the effective date above.
